学生時代からの付き合いの デミ・ムーアと ウディ・ハレルソンは結婚して７年目の夫婦。自分たちなりに幸せな生活を送っていたのだが、世の不況により、一文無しになってしまいそうになる。
二人の希望の象徴のように夢を持って建てようとした家までも差し押さえられてしまう。
■感想
ロバートレッドフォードの演じる大金持ちが、デミムーアに一目ぼれして「奥さんと一晩過ごす代償にお金を」と言い出すことにより微妙になっていく デミ・ムーアとウディ・ハレルソンの間柄という筋。
ジャケット写真を見るとなんとなくエッチっぽい雰囲気を期待しそうな雰囲気ですが、内容はそういうものではなく、優等生風のロバートレッドフォードらしい話ではあります。ま、それなりのシーンはあるにはありますが。
私が一番印象に残ったのがデミ・ムーア。 まずは学生時代のサエないデミ・ムーア。ずらりと銀色の歯列矯正器具をつけたまま笑う顔が「ひっ！」と思うくらい怖い。 それから、結婚後からロバートレッドフォードと会うまでのデミ・ムーア。こちらは、相変わらず肩幅が広くてゴツイ体に素っ頓狂なファッション。この当時ってこういうファッションがはやっていたのかな？ どれひとつとってもヘンテコな格好です。 ロバートレッドフォードと会って、それなりの場所に出かけるデミ・ムーアは、「うーん。やっぱり綺麗な人ではあるんだねえ」とうなる。でも、この人顔が小さすぎるのかどうも体とのバランスがヘンなんですよね。妙に胸が大きいし、それを意識してだかこの人がこの映画の中で着るドレスがよく見るとどれもなんだか違和感のあるデザインで。男性には人気があるのかもしれないけれど。
さて、映画のストーリーの方は 日本にもつい最近世を騒がせた「金で全てが買える」と言った人がいましたが、この映画の中のレッドフォードがまさにそれ。「この世にはお金では買えないものもある」というデミ・ムーアに反発して「金で買えないものはない」と言い切ります。
ロバートレッドフォードの役柄は、まあさすがといったところでしょうか。年をとっていても青年の面影があるようなさわやかさをどこかに残した印象は、彼以外では難しい役どころだったかもしれません。
年をとっても、恋する役柄というのは難しいです。いやらしい感じならばわりと誰でもだせそうな雰囲気ですが、サラリとそういう感じを与えない演技は彼ならではなのかと思いました。反対に彼にはドロドロのエッチっぽい役のほうが無理なのかも。
一番重要なところなのに、わからなくて残念だったのは、コインのどっちが表でどっちが裏かということ。たとえば１０円だったら平等院鳳凰堂 のある方が表とか。 コインがバッチリ写っていても 「あれ？こっちが表なの？裏なの？」とわからない。
内容としては、うーん。「ありえなーい」いや、いくらお金に困っていてもそれはないでしょう。そういう決断をするのは、すでに信頼関係がお互い失われていますわ。なんて思ったりしました。
デミ・ムーアが好きな人やロバートレッドフォードが好きな人にオススメということでしょうか。
